Jacobean
Charles II Oak Coffer
A period mid 17th Century dark oak coffer, with a worn patina and a deep
rich colour. The frieze decorated with roundels, an Italian influence,
the rest of the front with punch carved decoration, and fluting, with
four plain panels to the front, and one to each side. Supported by the
original stile feet, decorated similarly.
Furniture of this period was characterized by being extremely simple with
vivacious carving on the solid form, with a medieval appearance and dark
finish. All wooden peg construction, with iron staple hinges.

Victorian
Mahogany Chest of Drawers C1880
A Victorian well-figured mahogany chest of drawers, the crossbanded top
above four graduated drawers, with brass escutcheon and turned handles
with central mother-of-pearl decoration. With serpentine apron, supported
by four turned feet. This chest of drawers would make an attractive whilst
functional addition to any household.
