MID CENTURY ARMCHAIRS

Project

This project was a combination of upholstery and a repair solution/ design fault how the legs were secured to the base of the seat. The sections of timber located under the seat in which the legs were secured no longer provided sufficient rigidity, the wood required restoration. New sections of timber were patched into to the original and instead of using screws, bolts were used to provide adequate strength. The upholstery was a straight forward recovery with a fabric of the clients choice. This involved removing the original and re-upholstering in the new fabric. There was sticking under the arms and along the front of the seat.
