Period Door Restoration - Chelsea, London

The doors belonged to a mansion block in chelsea. The client wanted a more natural colour, rather than the opaque colour which was initially on there. We went about stripping both sides and then using oxalic acid to remove any superficial water marks. We then used an external varnish which we built up also balancing out colour as we went along, using earth pigments and water stains. The internal sides were cut back and french polished to complete. French polish was applied generously to create an impressive lustre.
