Details

An ebonised Anglo-Japanese armchair; this model closely resembles EW Godwin’s original design.

This antique chair was commonly referred to as the Jacobean or Old English.

Manufactured by Collier and Plucknett cabinet makers and upholsterers. The patent was sold to the aforementioned.

It shows many of the characteristics of the original design, however, the stretcher was lowered presumably a study variation to the original.

This chair is manufactured from beech rather than mahogany, unlike the earlier model. Circa 1875-80
